At the 2025 World Para Powerlifting Championships in Cairo, Ahmed Aminzadeh, the Paralympic champion and the most decorated super heavyweight para powerlifter of Iran, won the gold medal in the +107 kg category by successfully lifting 260 kg

This victory marked his third world championship title, continuing Iran’s dominance in this weight class following the historic achievements of the late champion

According to the Public Relations Department of the Sports Federation and cited from the National Paralympic Committee and IPC website, Aminzadeh lifted 260 kg in his second attempt, finishing 9 kg ahead of Gustavo Am Melo de Souza from Brazil. Though he attempted 270 kg in his third lift, he was unsuccessful. Aminzadeh expressed happiness with his performance after a period of limited training due to chest pain post-Paris 2024 Paralympics and looked forward to his recovery and stronger training ahead.
