With less than 100 days to go until the start of the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, “Finjal,” the official mascot of the Games, has been unveiled.
According to the Public Relations office of the Veterans and Disabled Sports Federation and quoting the National Paralympic Committee, the mascot is inspired by the “Arabic coffee cup” known as “Dallah,” a significant cultural and traditional symbol of Saudi Arabia, reflecting the host country’s cultural identity.
Two images of Finjal have been released:
The first shows Finjal dressed in a green sports outfit adorned with the Games’ logo, with the word “RIYADH” clearly visible in the background.
The second image depicts Finjal wearing a traditional white “Thobe” (long garment) and “Shemagh” (red and white checked headscarf), symbolizing traditional male clothing in Saudi Arabia.
The Islamic Solidarity Games will be held from November 7 to 21, 2025 (16 to 30 Aban 1404) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event will host 3,500 athletes from 57 Islamic countries competing across 21 sports.
Iranian representatives will also participate in the Paralympic section of the Games in para-athletics and para-weightlifting disciplines.
