Dr. Jalil Koohpayeh Zadeh, President of the Federation, met and held discussions with Dr. Derikvand, Head of the Education and Research Center of the Supreme Council of Provinces.
According to the Public Relations office of the Federation, following a visit to the preparation camp of the national boccia team, the two officials discussed advancing education, cultural promotion, and the development of sports infrastructure and equipment. This collaboration aims to expand community sports, maintain the health, and promote social inclusion of people with disabilities nationwide.
Dr. Koohpayeh Zadeh explained that the Supreme Council of Provinces is a non-governmental public institution with infrastructures at provincial, city, and village levels. By signing a memorandum of understanding, this capacity can be leveraged to advance veterans and disabled sports.
He emphasized the importance of cultural promotion and elevating the role of physical activity and sports in maintaining public health for their target community. The Supreme Council has the authority to enact central regulations that enable resource allocation for infrastructure and equipment development needed to support physical activity and mass sports at city and rural levels.
The Federation President noted that Dr. Derikvand welcomed the idea of cooperation and support and expressed hope that this opportunity would be used effectively to develop sports for people with disabilities across provinces, cities, and villages.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed that a cooperation memorandum between the Federation and the Supreme Council of Provinces will be signed in the upcoming weeks.
