The weekly meeting of the Federation’s managerial council convened with the presence of the President Dr. Jalil Koohpayezadeh, Secretary-General Majid Nezami, and various federation directors on Monday, July 28, 2025.
Dr. Jalil Koohpayezadeh’s Opening Remarks:
Dr. Koohpayezadeh shared reflections from his recent attendance at the general assemblies and elections of the provincial boards of West and East Azerbaijan.
He noted that East Azerbaijan’s board ranks 13th nationwide in the annual evaluation, with potential for improvement by better leveraging the province’s infrastructure and capacities. Positive changes seen in the latest assembly were welcomed, with hopes for continued progress this year.
He stressed that the participation of university academics, economic activists, and media professionals in the executive boards of provincial sports federations is essential, as such diverse involvement significantly contributes to the development and advancement of veterans and disabled sports in each province.
Regarding West Azerbaijan province, he praised the presence of a supportive Director General of Empowerment who is actively backing sports development. Dr. Koohpayezadeh suggested utilizing the province’s capacities for sports diplomacy and hosting varied events in West Azerbaijan.
On National Teams’ Training Camps and Future Plans:
The Federation President expressed satisfaction with the ongoing national teams’ training camps, which are supported by the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the National Paralympic Committee. He urged maintaining this momentum, emphasizing that the federation’s sports calendar should not be negatively affected by financial or budget issues.
Provincial boards have cooperated well in this regard.
Given the importance of upcoming competitions, particularly the Para-Asian Youth Games, training camps for teams destined for these events will be held as centralized gatherings starting from Shahrivar (September).
On Financial Management and Structural Independence:
Dr. Koohpayezadeh highlighted the need for the federation and provincial boards to move towards budgetary independence. He encouraged them to leverage private sector support and corporate social responsibility engagements to manage operations effectively.

Secretary-General Majid Nezami expressed appreciation for colleagues’ efforts and urged rapid submission of annual performance reports from provincial units for the last year.
Hoorieh Baradaran, Director of International Affairs, reported on preparations to send national archery and boccia teams to international competitions.
Dr. Zahra Chaboki, Chair of the Federation’s Sports Medicine Committee, gave an update on the medical examinations conducted for athletes and the registration of their information in the national electronic health record system.
Dr. Ofoqi, Head of the Federation’s Training and Performance Evaluation Center, reported on upcoming training webinars on artificial intelligence, refereeing, and coaching. He also announced that performance assessments for the national para-table tennis team were completed, with para-shooting assessments scheduled for Wednesday, 8 Mordad (July 30, 2025).
Seyed Majid Mousa Kazemi, Federation Treasurer, presented a financial report outlining expenditures related to national team camps, national championship events, leagues, and international dispatches during year 1403 (2024-2025).
