Officials of the Basij Athletes’ Centers of various sports federations held a cordial meeting with Seyed Shervin Asbaghian, Deputy for Elite and Professional Sports Development and Commander of the Basij at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and Mehdi Mirjalili, Head of the Basij Athletes’ Organization of the country.
According to the Public Relations office of the Federation and citing the Basij Athletes’ Organization, during this meeting, Asbaghian expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Basij athletes’ members and officials during the 12-day conflict, stating that the people recognized the crucial role of the armed forces in defending the country and stood firmly behind them.
He also described the unity and solidarity formed among the people as one of God’s blessings, encouraging the officials of the federations’ Basij athletes’ centers to actively pursue cultural objectives within sports, assuring them that the Ministry of Sports and Youth fully supports their endeavors.
Mirjalili, in turn, thanked the Ministry of Sports and Youth for its support of the Basij athletes’ activities, highlighting the excellent synergy between the Basij athletes and the Ministry, which was evident in athletes’ active support for the nation.
He further outlined strategies to strengthen national cohesion, particularly among athletes, emphasizing this as one of the primary duties of the federations’ Basij athletes’ centers.
The meeting was also attended by Keshavarz Nouri, Cultural Director and Basij representative of the s Federation, along with officials from the Basij athletes’ centers of other federations, who shared their views, voiced challenges, and offered proposals during the discussion.
