The first meeting of the Education and Research Council of the Federation was held with the participation of distinguished university professors, senior federation managers, and specialists in disability sports.

According to the Public Relations of the Federation, this meeting was convened to exchange ideas for drafting a roadmap to advance education, research, and technology in sports for people with disabilities.

At the beginning of the session, Dr. Kouhpaye Zadeh, President of the Federation, emphasized the importance of a strategic approach in this field, identifying education, research, and technology as the council’s three main areas of activity, and stressed the necessity of effective collaboration between universities and the federation.

A key point of the meeting was the emphasis on needs-based education for target groups (athletes, coaches, referees, and classifiers). Council members stressed the design of educational programs tailored to the real conditions of various disciplines. It was also decided that applied and rapid-result research addressing current federation challenges, as well as research directly leading to improved performance and quality of sports services, should be prioritized.

In the technology segment, the meeting highlighted the need to use modern tools, especially artificial intelligence, for talent identification, elite development, and the design of intelligent training programs, to facilitate the scientific and technological renewal of disability sports. Another point raised was the monitoring of athletes throughout the year and during national team camps to address athletes’ physical and mental needs and weaknesses using scientific methods, ensuring they are fully prepared for competitions.

It was also proposed to utilize postgraduate theses as problem-oriented federation projects, supporting the academic community while directly applying research results in sports operations.

In conclusion, it was decided that council meetings would continue regularly on a monthly basis, and Dr. Mahsa Ofoghi was appointed as the council’s secretary, responsible for coordinating and following up on executive matters.

This meeting marks a promising beginning toward knowledge-based, practical, and technological development in disability sports.
