Participants from 14 countries who completed the online training have gathered in Kigali for the hands-on training.
Hadi Rezaei, head coach of the Iranian men’s national sitting volleyball team, is leading the practical portion of the course alongside Mousaed Elayoti from Egypt. This course represents an important step in developing technical knowledge, promoting inclusive sport, and empowering coaches to organize and expand sitting volleyball activities in their own countries.
Previously, Level One coaching courses were held with instructors from Egypt and South Africa, with Rezaei supervising. This two-day training includes theoretical sessions on coaching principles, athlete classification, and adapted training techniques, followed by practical drills on the court.
Seventeen coaches from Rwanda, South Africa, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, and Saudi Arabia are participating in the training program. Upon course completion, participants receive official Level One diplomas from World ParaVolley, marking a significant advancement in their professional coaching development.
The program signifies Rwanda’s rising status as a hub for inclusive sports development in Africa and its commitment to expanding educational opportunities for coaches and athletes. The course runs from November 1 to November 3, 2025.
This initiative highlights Hadi Rezaei’s influential role in global sitting volleyball coaching education.
