On the occasion of Physical Education Week, the President of the Federation of Sports for Veterans

, together with the Deputy Minister for the Development of Championship and Professional Sports and the Director General of Sports and Youth of Ardabil province, visited the homes of Qader Modabber, Paralympic champion, and Mir Hamid Mousavi, former head of Ardabil’s federation branch, to honor their achievements.

Dr. KoخhpayeZadeh, President of the Federation, accompanied by Dr. Asbaghian, Deputy Minister, Awaz Nakhost, provincial director, and Davar Noori, head of the provincial federation, paid tribute to Modabber—a decorated Paralympian and symbol of perseverance and willpower—and Mousavi for their athletic and organizational contributions.

Qader Modabber, a 70% war veteran, is considered Iran’s most decorated Paralympic athlete, with five gold medals and one bronze from the Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games, and is recognized as a legendary figure in Iranian para sports.​

During the ceremony, the officials addressed ongoing challenges for elite athletes, including the need for support with professional, training, and livelihood matters. They reiterated commitments to enhancing infrastructure, welfare, and social security for national champions, especially after their retirement from sports.

The encounter was marked by presentation of commemorative plaques and gifts by the Federation President, highlighting Modabber and Mousavi as inspirational role models for Iran’s youth and the disabled community.​
