Record-setting by Iranian female para powerlifters among the top moments of the World Championships The two medals won by Iran’s national female para powerlifters were listed among the best moments of the 2025 World Para Powerlifting Championships in Egypt.

 

According to the Public Relations of the Federation  and as reported by Tasnim News Agency, the IPC’s official World Para Powerlifting website reviewed the top moments of the event.

One of these moments was the historic achievement by Atieh Sadat Hosseini and Nikoo Rouzbahani, two Iranian women, who respectively secured the first-ever medal for Iranian women’s para powerlifting and also the first senior division medal in this discipline.

The report states:
Iranian men’s para powerlifting has always drawn attention for its strength and abilities. Now, following their lead, the women for the first time managed to stand on the podium in Cairo.

First, Atieh Sadat Hosseini, a youth competitor, made history by winning Iran’s first-ever gold medal for women at the World Para Powerlifting Championships in the “Next Generation” division. Hosseini, who has been active in this sport for two years, became champion in the 61 kg class by lifting 90 kg.
