Comprehensive support from the federation for seven-a-side football; from youth rejuvenation to participation in international fields

In line with comprehensive support for various disciplines, the Federation of Sports, with precise and purposeful planning, has prioritized the development of seven-a-side football and, through holding national championship competitions and training camps this year, has paved the way for a strong national team presence in international arenas.

According to the Public Relations of the Federation of Sports for the Disabled and Veterans, the federation, in accordance with its macro policies, has placed support for all sports disciplines, both Paralympic and non-Paralympic, at the top of its executive programs.

In this context, following the brilliance of the seven-a-side football discipline at the World Championships and the championship title at the 2024 World Cup, the federation has made thorough plans to sustain these successes.

Based on these plans, the national championship competitions for seven-a-side football were held in June this year with the participation of provincial teams, followed by national team camps held with a youth-oriented approach and the use of fresh talents. The performance of players and technical staff was continuously assessed by the federation’s technical committee to ensure that the final national team lineup is selected based on merit and technical readiness.

It should be noted that the Federation of Sports for the Disabled and Veterans, for the participation of the seven-a-side football national team in the Asia & Oceania Championships, has corresponded with the international federation of this sport and has taken all necessary measures for dispatching our national players.

These actions are in line with the federation’s general approach of all-round support for athletes and various sports disciplines to foster further growth and pride for the country’s disabled and veteran champions.
