The first World Abilitysport Beach Games are currently underway in Mersin, Türkiye, from October 18 to 25, 2025

. Organized by World Abilitysport in collaboration with the National Paralympic Committee of Türkiye, this historic event marks the debut of para sports exclusively designed for beach, aquatic, and open-air disciplines.​

The competition features six sports: beach paravolleyball, para laser run (pentathlon), para inclusive sailing, para air badminton, para sepak takraw, and para powerlifting — which is being held outdoors for the first time in World Para Powerlifting history. The event aims to promote athletic diversity and inclusivity across coastal environments.

Representing a major achievement for Iran, international para powerlifting referees Mousa Azarbad and Ehsan Abbasi have been appointed to officiate at this global competition, reinforcing Iran’s growing reputation within the international para sports community.
