At the 2025 World Para Powerlifting Championships held in Egypt, the Iranian national team performed excellently, winning a total of 7 medals and finishing third in the world standings.

The medal winners are as follows:

Niko Rouzbehani in the +86 kg women’s category won bronze with a lift of 152 kg, marking the first-ever para powerlifting medal for women in the senior age group at the world championships.

Ali Akbar Gharib Shahi in the 107 kg men’s category won gold and set a new world record by lifting 255 kg.

Ahmad Aminzadeh in the +107 kg men’s category won gold with a lift of 260 kg.

Rouhollah Rostami in the 88 kg men’s category won silver with a lift of 243 kg.

Mohsen Bakhtiar in the 65 kg men’s category won silver with a lift of 201 kg.

Ali Asghar Ebaraghi in the 97 kg men’s category won bronze with a lift of 227 kg.

Amir Jafari in the 72 kg men’s category won silver for the total of his three lifts.
