Major Scientific-Sports Gathering Focused on New Technologies for Disabled and Para Athletes

A joint meeting between the Federation and the Center for Rehabilitation Technology and Innovation marked a new step toward merging science and sports to empower veteran and disabled athletes.

According to the Public Relations office of the Federation, this specialized meeting involved Dr. Jalil Koohpayehzadeh (Federation President), Dr. Ofoghi (Director of Performance Evaluation), and Drs. Mokhber and Soleimani from the Rehabilitation Technology Center. The focus was on enhancing collaboration and leveraging the country’s scientific capabilities in sports rehabilitation technology.

Dr. Koohpayehzadeh emphasized:

“Holding such meetings and gatherings is a milestone in advancing the country’s sports, especially for veterans and disabled athletes, toward becoming more scientific. Globally, sports cannot sustainably grow without a scientific foundation, and we must take similar steps.”

He highlighted the Federation’s effective strides in innovation, including establishing electronic health records for athletes, talent identification systems, and online registration platforms—all designed to integrate technology into traditional sports systems.

Future Plans
Both parties agreed on the necessity of organizing a significant scientific-sports conference featuring ministers, senior officials, university professors, and students. Key themes will include:

Reverse engineering to improve performance levels and readiness of athletes with disabilities.
