For the first time in the history of the sport, the Iranian Special Olympics equestrian team departed this morning, August 24, 2025 (2 Shahrivar 1404), to participate in the international regional MENA competition in the United Arab Emirates. The team aims to qualify for the 2027 Special Olympics World Games in Chile.
According to the Public Relations office of the Federation, the delegation’s dispatch was organized in cooperation with the Equestrian Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, supported by the National Paralympic Committee, and authorized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth. This participation follows nearly a year of continuous training and national team selection competitions held in October 2024 (Mehr 1403).
