The central office of the Charity Assembly “Yarigaran Zendegi” (Life Helpers) was inaugurated at the Almas Karimkhan Complex in Tehran, with attendance by government representatives, law enforcement commanders, and charity activists.

According to the Public Relations office of the Veterans and Disabled Sports Federation and Fars News Agency, the event took place on Monday, August 18, 2025 (27 Mordad 1404), attended by the board members and trustees of the Assembly, Hossein Zolfaghari (Presidential Representative and Secretary-General of the Drug Control Headquarters), Ali Mohammad Zanganeh (Deputy for Demand Reduction and Public Participation Development), Farzin Rahim Nazari (Director General of Public Relations), Alireza Brazi (Director General of Public Participation), and Brigadier General Jalil Moqoufe’i (Commander of Kerman Police).

Key Remarks and Highlights:
Mohammad Reza Kargari, a well-known figure in national charity circles, honored the memory of martyrs and praised the rapid succession of capable leaders during the Sacred Defense, which thwarted enemies. He noted the unprecedented formation of all provincial branches of the “Yarigaran Zendegi” charity within the last year as a record achievement.

Kargari emphasized that major sectors like school building, hospital, and treatment largely rely on public efforts and urged officials to value these endeavors. He stressed the need to encourage capable contributors and replace ineffective ones, asserting that national progress depends on motivated youth and innovative thinking.

Hassan Hamzehzadeh, CEO of the Charity Assembly, explained that many members have been active in school construction for 27 years and had contributed significantly in health charity before founding this assembly to offer lasting services.

Key board members introduced included Mohammad Ali Rouhi Ferdpour, Dr. Alireza Nabi, Ahmad Khaghani Pour, Mohammad Reza Kargari, Hamidreza Shah Hosseini, Habibollah Niknam, Mohammad Hossein Rezaei, Mohammad Hassan Khodaverdi, and Reza Rezvan, recognized for services in school construction, health, supporting disabled persons, and prisoner families.

Hamzehzadeh noted the assembly’s launch in September 2022 (Shahrivar 1401), exceeding original plans by establishing 13 provincial branches in six months, now expanded to 31 provinces. Over 3,100 philanthropists and entrepreneurs have engaged in creating employment for former addicts and their families, including 280 active board members, generating over 3,500 jobs and investments exceeding 710 billion tomans to combat unemployment—a key addiction driver.

Statements by Presidential Representative Hossein Zolfaghari:
Expressed admiration for the charitable work, emphasizing that successful public efforts demonstrate better results when entrusted to the people, with the government focusing on infrastructure.

Criticized the ineffective cycle of addict arrests and releases, calling for identification of gaps to improve drug control measures, highlighting police sacrifices.

Affirmed that lasting addiction treatment and control depends on public participation, referencing the impressive cooperative success of the Arbaeen Headquarters.

Outlined six committees formed within the drug control headquarters targeting charity, social participation, and prevention, headed by experienced civilians, to manage costs, prioritize efforts, and remove barriers for effective action.

Stressed that this organization relies significantly on charitable efforts to enhance aid to addiction-affected individuals.

At the ceremony’s conclusion, Hassan Hamzehzadeh was appointed by Dr. Hossein Zolfaghari as the Head of the National Committee of Charity Helpers in the central coordination headquarters of NGOs, marking a key leadership role for expanding philanthropic impact.
