Dr. Koohpayeh Zadeh: The Federation Must Achieve Financial Independence

A meeting of the Executive Council of the Federation was held.

According to the Public Relations office of the Federation, the Executive Council session took place on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 (14 Mordad 1404), with the attendance of the president, secretary-general, advisors, vice president, and managers.

In the meeting, Dr. Koohpayeh Zadeh emphasized the importance of enhancing intersectoral collaboration and interactions. He stated that during this period, meetings were held with the heads of related single-sport federations to begin leveraging their capacities and equipment for the development of veterans and disabled sports.

He noted that the main budget of sports federations depends on the Ministry of Sports and Youth as well as the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees. However, if the federation can move toward financial independence, it will have better budgetary opportunities to support training camps, competitions, and participation in international events.

The federation president remarked:
“The country’s sports train is in motion, and in order to help develop this sector’s sports and improve the readiness of national team athletes by applying up-to-date knowledge and equipment, we must engage with financial supporters, sports philanthropists, and utilize the social responsibilities of companies and organizations. This way, we can bring the federation closer to financial independence — a critical goal that must be accomplished.”

Additionally, during the session, the federation’s preparations and actions for holding the annual general assembly were evaluated and reviewed.
