The “Women in Sports” seminar of the Asian Paralympic Committee commenced on August 1, 2025 (10 Mordad 1404) in Taipei, Taiwan, with the participation of Dr. Maryam Kazemipour, Vice President of the Women’s Committee of the Iranian National Paralympic Committee, and Dr. Mojgan Nasiri, member of the Asian Paralympic Committee Women’s Sports Committee and Vice President of the Federation.
According to the Public Relations office of the Veterans and Disabled Sports Federation and quoting the National Paralympic Committee, this inaugural two-day event gathers women from the fields of sports, government, and the Asian Paralympic movement to shape a more inclusive future.
During the seminar, Dr. Maryam Kazemipour was appointed as an advisor to Dr. Mo Ming Chu, Chairperson of the Women’s Sports Committee of the Asian Paralympic Committee.
The seminar celebrates the strength, leadership, and steadfast determination of women in Paralympic sports by sharing inspiring stories of female coaches, the challenges of balancing work and life, and tackling gender inequality. Dr. Kazemipour and Dr. Nasiri delivered speeches as Iran’s representatives.
The event is attended by Tariq Sooi, Secretary-General of the Asian Paralympic Committee, officials from the Taipei National Paralympic Committee, and representatives from 45 Asian countries, and is held on August 1 and 2, 2025 (10 and 11 Mordad 1404).
