The ninth meeting of the Strategic Technical Council of the National Paralympic Committee took place at the committee’s headquarters. The session was chaired by Dr. Ghafour Kargari, Committee President, and attended by Dr. Mohammadreza Davarzani (Council President), Dr. Jalil Koohpayezadeh (President of the Federation), Dr. Saeed Salagi (Vice President of Elite Sports and Council Secretary), Sara Javanmardi (celebrated para-shooting champion), Dr. Ali Raghebti, Majid Nezami (Acting Secretary of the Federation and Head of the Para-Shooting Association), and Ali Asghar Hadizadeh.
The meeting focused on para-shooting, reviewing the sport’s history and achievements, as well as competitor analysis and technical issues. Dr. Koohpayezadeh provided insights on the sport’s fundamentals, medal history, and champions.
Majid Nezami outlined the federation’s strategic plan, policies, and priorities for developing para-shooting.
Key discussions included:
Emphasizing the use of foreign coaches to enhance the knowledge of domestic coaches and improve training quality.
Providing the necessary equipment and firearms for athletes.
Focusing on a “greenhouse” approach to nurture elite athletes to ensure their success in the upcoming 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Para Asian Games and the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics.
This strategic direction aims to strengthen Iran’s position in para-shooting at upcoming major international events.
