A Major Step by Gilan for the Development of Veterans and Disabled Sports: The Sitting Volleyball House Is on Its Way

In a productive and friendly meeting, Mr. Ghanbari, Head of the Gilan Provincial Sports Board, met and held discussions with Dr. Koohpayezadeh, President of the Veterans and Disabled Sports Federation of Iran.

According to the Public Relations office of the Federation, the session began with a report on the third stage of the national sitting volleyball team’s training camp, which is preparing for the upcoming 2026 Para Asian Games in Nagoya.

Dr. Koohpayezadeh acknowledged the successful progress of this camp and expressed profound appreciation for the valuable efforts and cooperation of the Gilan Sports Board, highlighting its indispensable role in organizing and advancing the national programs.

The Establishment of a Sitting Volleyball House in Gilan: A Strategic Necessity

The discussion then focused on the crucial initiative of creating a Sitting Volleyball House in Gilan Province. This specialized center is envisioned as a serious infrastructure to foster growth, continuous training, and talent identification for disabled athletes across the province.

Mr. Ghanbari emphasized the hidden athletic potential within Gilan and proposed that, by establishing this dedicated facility, the pathway for discovering and introducing elite athletes to national teams would become more streamlined.

He also expressed gratitude for the federation’s support in this venture and confirmed the full readiness of the Gilan Sports Board to follow through with the implementation of this strategic plan.
