Memorial of Athlete Martyrs of Israeli Regime’s Aggressions on Iran to be Displayed at the National Sports Museum

Photos, biographies, and memorabilia of the country’s athlete martyrs—especially those who lost their lives during the recent aggressions of the Israeli regime against Iran—are being collected and will be exhibited at the National Museum of Sports, Olympics, and Paralympics.

According to the Public Relations of the Federation and citing the National Olympic Committee, the director of the National Museum of Sports, Olympics, and Paralympics paid tribute to all the country’s martyrs, particularly athlete martyrs and victims of the recent crimes committed by the Israeli regime and its allies against Iran. He stated: “Based on investigations, more than 40 athletes from various disciplines have been martyred in the recent Israeli aggressions on our beloved homeland. According to the decision of the National Olympic Committee officials, a memorial for these dear ones will be established in the National Sports Museum.”

Farhad Tolou Kian added: “Following the invitation sent to the sports community for the celebration of Olympic medalists’ birthdays on June 22, a letter signed by the Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee was issued to champions and federation heads. Given the special circumstances caused by foreign aggressions against our homeland, and out of respect for the martyrdom of military personnel, scientists, and dear compatriots, this ceremony will not be held. However, the gifts intended for the champions on this occasion will be deposited into their accounts.”
