Iran’s National Paralympic Committee President Calls for Suspension of Israel from Global Paralympic Sports
The President of the National Paralympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran has officially requested the suspension of Israel’s sports activities within the global Paralympic structure.
According to the Public Relations of the Federation and citing the National Paralympic Committee, following the ongoing crimes of the Zionist regime and the martyrdom of several Iranian athletes and citizens, Dr. Ghafour Karimi, President of Iran’s National Paralympic Committee, sent separate letters to Andrew Parsons, President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), and Majid Rashid, President of the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC), demanding decisive action against Israel and its removal from the Paralympic movement.
Full text of the letter to Andrew Parsons:
Dear Mr. Andrew Parsons,
Honorable President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC),
Greetings from Iran, the land of beauties and resilient yet oppressed people.
As you are aware, the child-killing regime of Israel, continuing its aggressions against Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, has attacked the ancient and cultured country of Iran. Besides targeting scientists and commanders, it has martyred innocent people, including 24 athletes to date.
These criminal actions are a blatant violation of human rights and contradict the spirit of the Paralympic movement, which inherently defends justice, peace, and human dignity, especially for persons with disabilities. Such circumstances make life even more difficult for this vulnerable group.
On behalf of the Iranian sports community, I respectfully urge you to condemn these heinous acts that have led to the bloodshed of Iranian athletes and to place the suspension of Israel’s membership on the agenda of the upcoming IPC General Assembly.
