A joint meeting between the NPC and the Federation was held to discuss the intellectual development of the Paralympic movement.

Dr. Kargari, Chair of the National Paralympic Committee, stated that the intellectual development of the Paralympic movement has been seriously planned and implemented for months and is considered one of the committee’s important and strategic projects. He explained that intellectual development means familiarizing officials, institutions, and the public with Paralympic sports and integrating the target community into the sports world.

He emphasized the importance of coordination and synergy between the central core of the movement and its operational body. The first circle of this movement is families, who should introduce their disabled children to sports.

Dr. Kargari added that collaboration with partner federations is necessary. A working group for the development of the Paralympic movement should be formed to raise awareness among the target community. The movement’s circles include families, provincial boards, federations, and the National Paralympic Committee, ultimately connected to the Ministry of Sports and Youth. He also mentioned efforts to hold the National Paralympic Week and Day with more comprehensive planning than in previous years.

Dr. Kouhpaye Zadeh, President of the Federation, remarked that Paralympic sports should begin at the school-age level. He noted meetings with the Exceptional Education Organization and the Health and Physical Education Deputy of the Ministry of Education, expressing hope that cooperation with these institutions will help identify talented youth.

He added that legal and social sectors should be activated, and the opportunities provided by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution’s resolutions should be utilized to advance the intellectual development of the Paralympic movement.

Other officials present also shared their views during the meeting.
