A joint meeting was held between the officials of IRISFD and Fariba Mohammadian, Deputy for Women’s Sports Development at the Ministry of Sports and Youth.

According to the Public Relations of the Federation, in this meeting held after visiting the national boccia team’s training camp, Dr. Kouhpaye Zadeh, President of the Federation, reported on the federation’s activities. He stated that with nine Paralympic sports under their umbrella and upcoming events such as the Youth Para-Asian Games, the Islamic Solidarity Games, and the Nagoya Para-Asian Games, they have started the preparation camps for the teams and are utilizing provincial capacities to hold camps across the country.

Dr. Kouhpaye Zadeh emphasized that securing more budget allocation and providing sports equipment to enhance team readiness are essential needs for the federation. He expressed gratitude for the special attention and support from the Minister of Sports and the Deputy for Women’s Sports Development toward the federation’s growth.

He added that even minimal investment in the federation’s sports disciplines has yielded valuable results, demonstrating the high potential of athletes in this field. With continued support and investment, more talented athletes can be identified, and greater honors can be achieved for the country’s sports.

Dr. Ofoghi, Director of Education at the federation, spoke about initiating athlete performance assessments, which involve collecting data to create electronic health records. This system aims to help prevent athlete injuries by utilizing the gathered information.

Dr. Nasiri, Vice President of the Federation, also expressed appreciation for the support from the Deputy and Minister of Sports and hoped that this supportive outlook would lead to greater successes for disabled athletes, especially women, at national and international levels.

Furthermore, Zahra Nemati, a member of the federation’s board and head coach of the national para-archery team, highlighted the need to strengthen infrastructure for sports for the disabled and persons with disabilities. She praised the development-oriented approach of the Deputy for Women’s Sports Development and the Minister of Sports and Youth, noting that it can significantly improve conditions for disabled athletes, particularly regarding equipment, which is a primary concern for the federation.

Nemati added that many of the federation’s sports are equipment-intensive, and the high costs of specialized equipment are a serious challenge. Without targeted support, sustainable development in this area is not feasible. The federation requires a supportive environment so that champions can pursue their path to glory without worries.
