irisfd has extended its congratulations on the occasion of World Sitting Volleyball Day.
According to the Federation’s Public Relations Department, sitting volleyball was first included in the Paralympic program at the 1980 Netherlands Paralympics. The World ParaVolley federation was officially established on April 24, 1981 (one year after the sport’s Paralympic debut) during the European Sitting Volleyball Championships in Germany.
Over the years, Iran’s national men’s sitting volleyball team has become one of the country’s most decorated Paralympic squads, having won eight gold and two silver medals in various Paralympic Games editions. The team has also claimed numerous World and Asian championship titles. Iran’s women’s sitting volleyball team has also achieved success as Asian vice-champions.
The Federation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting strong national teams across all age groups and both genders to maintain Iran’s position among the world’s sitting volleyball elite.
