Dubai to Host Fifth Asian Youth Para Games in 2025

The Asian Paralympic Committee has announced Dubai as the host city for the fifth edition of the Asian Youth Para Games.

According to the Public Relations Department of IRISFD and as reported by the National Paralympic Committee, following Tashkent’s withdrawal as host, Dubai was confirmed as the new venue. The Games are scheduled to take place from 7 to 14 December 2025 (16 to 23 Azar 1404 in the Persian calendar).

Dubai has prior experience hosting this event, having successfully organized the third edition of the Asian Youth Para Games in 2017.

Majid Rashid, President of the Asian Paralympic Committee, stated: “The Asian Youth Para Games play a vital role in the development of the Paralympic movement in Asia. These Games provide young athletes with the opportunity to obtain international classification and test their abilities in a prestigious multi-sport event.”

He added: “We extend our gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Dubai Sports Council, and the Dubai Club for People of Determination for taking on the responsibility of hosting the fifth edition. Given their previous experience in 2017 and Dubai’s strong record in organizing Paralympic events, we are confident these Games will be a great success.”

Para Powerlifting

Para Badminton

Para Taekwondo

Para Archery

Para Table Tennis

Wheelchair Basketball

Boccia

Goalball

An estimated 1,300 athletes from 30 to 40 Asian nations are expected to participate, making it the largest youth para-sporting event in Asia in terms of athlete and country participation.

The Games serve as a crucial platform for emerging para-athletes to gain international exposure and prepare for future Paralympic competitions.
