1. Grassroots Sports Development
The federation plans to:
Expand inclusive sports infrastructure adapted for people with disabilities
Implement the National Sports and People Initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports
Foster public-private partnerships and philanthropic contributions
Promote sports as a tool for physical, mental, and social wellbeing of disabled individuals
“Grassroots sports create a foundation for holistic health benefits,” stated Dr. Koohpayehzadeh.
2. Competitive Sports Enhancement
The federation will focus on:
Upgrading professional training facilities and national team camps
Investing in sports science and technology to optimize athlete performance
Securing diverse funding sources to support medal contention in international events
Strengthening talent pipelines across all age categories
“Our goal is to achieve medal-winning performances worthy of Iran’s stature at international competitions,” the federation president emphasized.
Domestic Production Focus
Aligned with national economic priorities, the federation will:
Prioritize local manufacturing of sports equipment for disabled athletes
Attract investment to boost Iran’s sports production capabilities
Leverage public participation and charitable support
The announcement comes as Iran prepares its para athletes for major events including the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris and the 2026 Asian Para Games in Nagoya.
