IRISFD Establishes Electronic Health Records for Young Para Athletes Ahead of Asian Para Games

Federation has launched a groundbreaking electronic health monitoring system for its young para athletes preparing for major international competitions.

Key Developments
Digital Health Profiles: Comprehensive electronic records tracking both physical and mental health parameters

Priority Groups: Young athletes qualifying for 2024 Asian Youth Para Games

Completed Sports: Athletics, powerlifting, and swimming teams already profiled

Dr. Zahra Chabaki, Head of the Federation’s Medical Committee, explained: “We’ve developed specialized medical evaluation forms in collaboration with Dr. Vaez Mousavi. These are essential for athletes needing international classification, particularly our young competitors who often lack existing classifications.”

Medical Protocol
Initial Screening: Detailed disability type assessments

Specialist Referrals: For athletes with injuries or chronic conditions

Ongoing Monitoring: Continuous electronic updates during training camps

Pre-Competition Checks: Final medical evaluations before delegation dispatch

Significance
The system addresses two critical needs:

Standardizing athlete health documentation for international compliance

Creating longitudinal health records to track athlete development

“This digital transformation ensures our athletes receive proper medical oversight while meeting Paralympic documentation requirements,” Dr. Chabaki emphasized.

The initiative comes as Iran prepares its youth para athletes for the Hangzhou 2024 Asian Para Games, where the country aims to build on its Paralympic successes.
