Batoul Mosharraf Javadi, a veteran and former Vice President of IRISFD, has hailed Iran’s recognition as the world’s leading nation in developing women’s Paralympic sports as a testament to collective effort and unwavering determination. In an interview with the Sports and Youth News Agency, she expressed her pride in the remarkable achievements of Iranian female para-athletes, who have earned global acclaim through their perseverance and success in major sporting events.
“This achievement is the result of teamwork, collective wisdom, strategic planning, and the extraordinary efforts of our athletes,” Mosharraf Javadi stated. She emphasized that the journey to success was not without challenges, as the initial stages of developing para-sports in Iran were fraught with difficulties. However, through perseverance, Iranian women have become symbols of resilience and excellence, proudly raising the country’s flag at prestigious events like the Asian Para Games and the Paralympics.
Despite ongoing challenges, such as a lack of specialized infrastructure and resources, Mosharraf Javadi noted that Iranian para-athletes have learned to transform their disabilities into strengths. “Our athletes have realized that disability should not be a limitation. Instead, they rely on their other abilities to achieve success,” she said.
The former federation official also highlighted significant progress in recent years, including the equalization of rewards for Paralympians and Olympians, as well as the organization of specialized training camps. However, she stressed the need for continued support to further develop para-sports in Iran. “We must invest more in this field to ensure that our athletes can achieve even greater success and win more medals in a wider range of disciplines,” she added.
Mosharraf Javadi underscored the broader impact of para-sports on society, noting that the achievements of para-athletes inspire others with disabilities to reintegrate into society and embrace life with hope. “The presence and success of para-athletes in international competitions encourage those who have chosen isolation due to their disabilities to return to real life with optimism,” she said.
Her remarks reflect the transformative power of sports in empowering individuals with disabilities and fostering inclusivity. As Iran continues to make strides in para-sports, the achievements of its athletes serve as a beacon of hope and a source of national pride.
